In essence, our mission remains the same: to advance the efficient and secure transfer of ownership of real property by proactively serving its members, the consumer, and affiliated associations.
Don’t RISK not being in the LOOP! Become a member and learn about the path to licensure for both Title Settlement Agents and Title Examiners. Meanwhile, get ahead of the competition and become certified - Title Settlement Agent Certification (VCTSA) and/or Title Examination Certification (VCTE).
VLTA Welcomes New Executive Director
In October, I reported with deep regret the VLTA Board of Directors had accepted the resignation of Karenlee Oreo, of KLO Associates, VLTA’s Executive Director. Since that time we have been diligently searching for a replacement. We had stellar candidates apply for the position but after weighing each applicant very carefully we made a decision in favor of the individual we felt was the best match for the association.
I am absolutely delighted to report we have engaged the services of Virginian, Kathleen E. Zaynullin Herndon, more affectionately known as Katie. Katie resides in Northern Virginia and is a true gem. She is bubbling with energy and has a level of enthusiasm and excitement about the position that is positively contagious. Katie has the skill set and education that more than meets the needs of the association.
Katie committed herself to excellence at an early age. She was the valedictorian of her high school with a 4.8 GPA. She graduated magna cum laude from the College of William and Mary with a BS in Psychology with a French language minor (did I mention she is bi-lingual?) Katie went on to earn her Ph.D. in General Psychology, Research and Program Evaluation with a 4.0 GPA. She also earned a Consular Certificate with the Foreign Service Institute. Lest you think we were simply enamored with her education allow me to highlight some of the other assets of our new Executive Director.
Katie has worked as a title associate with a title abstract and settlement company. During her tenure at the title company she became well versed in underwriting, examining and settlement procedures. She conducted title searches, typed binders, prepared HUD settlement statements and conducted closings.
In addition, Katie has significant experience in project and event management. She has organized events and solicited sponsors. She has booked and coordinated venues while serving as the responsible party for the planning, arranging, communication, event programming and scheduling. Katie also has experience managing websites.
So you see Dr. Katie is just what the doctor ordered for VLTA. We are excited to have her on board and we are all looking forward to Katie as the new face of VLTA.
Welcome Katie, we are thrilled to have you as an integral part of the VLTA management team.
